Christmas week- Part II

We had an eventful Christmas week and I had some more pictures I wanted to share. One of the other caregivers works at a nursing home and she invited us to go over for their first annual Christmas party. Which by the way was a huge success. Tongans eat a lot of food, so whenever there is some kind of party, expect to have a LOT of FOOD in front of you. And everyone will say, eat more eat more.... here take some home!!!

We had a Samoan choir come and sing some Christmas carols to us. I don't know what's in there gene pool but Samoans and Tongans are really good singers. Probably like 99% of them are. If you ever get bored and want to look stuff up on youtube, there are tongan sisters that put a lot of videos up of them singing.

"It's an illluuuuuuusion."

Can you believe it? We had a magician come and perform magic tricks.. or rather... illluuuusssions. Have any of you seen Arressted Development? Just think of Job saying "It's an illusion" and he sounded just like him. He made us all repeat it back to him to. Hilarious.

Well, it's time for everyone to go home. Grab your walker.

Dear Obama

Dear Obama,
You are a huge inconvenience. At first, we were excited to have you 5 houses down from us. The excitement wore off fast. Here is a list of reasons why we would like you to leave.

1. Our entire street is lined with cars, on both sides with your secret service not moving aside for us to leave the neighborhood.

2. Coming back into our neighborhood and having to go through two check points. We  get out of our car for the bomb squad to search everything. You have your search dog smell everything. And then they wand us down every single time only to get back in the car and drive down one more street.

3. We can't swim in our backyard.

4. Part of the beach behind our house is blocked off just for you.

5. You leave at 7:15 in the morning every day which is way too early for Ryan and I to come down and watch you leave.

6. We can't bring fireworks back to our house for new years... but that doesn't mean we won't try to smuggle some in.

7. Not only does it take time to come back INTO our neighborhood and down our street, but sometimes you make us wait to LEAVE.

8. We made a poster for you and they wouldn't let us put it up.

9. The US Coastal Guards mess up our backyard view of the water.

10. And lastly, you could have invited us over to your house for a breakfast to say "sorry for the inconvenience and I appreciate you allowing us to stay in your neighborhood." No. Nothing at all.

The most action we've seen is when Ryan and I were walking down the street and one of the secret service guys was walking your dog. Not much excitement.

You are welcome to leave. Thank you.

Love,

Ryan and Elizabeth

Have a holly jolly Chistmas.....(written by Ryan)

Well Christmas day was a real hoot. First off, we exchanged gifts. Elizabeth made me a sweet stocking with my name on it, got me a nice hawaiian shirt, a hawaiian christmas ornament, and some sandals. What a sweet little ol gal.
Later on we went to Lanikai beach and chilled out there for a couple hours. That was for sure something different for a christmas activity.

The next Christmas activity involved us going up to Laie to see our friends Daniel and Christal. We enjoyed a nice ham dinner with a bunch of other stuff. It was delicious. We just hung out and played some games with them and another couple they had invited. I won pretty much all of the games.
Over all we had a great Christmas. It will definitely be one to remember forever.
I had originally made Elizabeth a ring our of a silver quarter. I lost it on the trip out here, so I had to improvise with a little sporty watch and some other little things.

There are quite a few pictures of me with the flowers I picked for Elizabeth. Can't ever have enough pictures of a man looking really manly like I do with those cute little things.

Christmas week- Part I

We hope everyone had a great Christmas! It was hard feeling the Christmas spirit, but that didn't stop us from celebrating. It's the price we are willing to pay for being able to go to the beach Christmas day. :)
Gingerbread Houses
whose hand is that??

Sad day. Following morning. I forgot to take a picture the same night when the house was standing up.

Horse and Carriage Ride!
Every year, one of the sons comes down from the North Shore with the horse and carriage for a Christmas ride around the neighborhood.

View from the front of carriage

With all the bells on the horse and carriage, neighbors started coming out to watch us go by.

If you look closely, you can three different neighbors who came outside and waved.
